Service Opportunities

A cornerstone of the Methodist Church from the time of John Wesley has been service to others.  Trinity UMC is no exception.

In the CD Ministry, team members visit our church homebound members weekly, delivering the Sunday bulletin and a CD of the weekly worship service.

Altar Guild members take care of the altar ware, changing paraments, preparing for communion and delivering the altar flowers to sick and homebound church members.

Usher Team is available on Sunday mornings and other special services to help people find seats, give out bulletins, welcome and assist guests, take up offering, and help with communion.

Communion Team takes and serves communion to those who are homebound. They also provide communion and prayer in local assisted living facilities.

The Hospitality Team helps church families experiencing the loss of a loved one. A meal is provided for the family of a church member who has died. Other assistance is available upon request to the pastor.

Trinity members participate in McMinn Ministries, a group of individuals from McMinn county United Methodist churches. It's primary purpose is mission outreach.  The group meets monthly at the McMinn Ministry Center (formerly Cook Memorial UMC) to work jointly to complete various mission opportunities and pursue new ones.

Children's Ministry Team, coordinated by Megan Sledge.  Volunteeers work with Trinity's children programs. Help is always needed for special events such as the Easter Candy Drop, Vacation Bible School, and Trunk-or-Treat as well as volunteers for Sunday School and Worship Times.

Youth Ministry Team, Our Youth team members commit to one year at a time of full time service to our youth for Sunday evening program and special events. Please contact our Program Director, Tina Morgan to find out how you can help our youth grow into a maturity of faith.

Mission Projects are a regular part of Trinity's activities on an individual basis. They range from raising money for clean water in the Sudan, to making disaster kits for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti, to volunteering for torando and fire clean up, to going on mission trips both in the US and Internationally.
